Also, turn on your TVs to a channel that is not playing the inauguration at 10:00 ET so that your TV provider will have to publish numbers of the percentage of their members watched the shit show. More viewers watching something different reduces the percentage of those that do. Just not watching will increase the percentage of those that were watching. If out of 1000 members 200 watched the Orange ball and 50 watched something else, their percentage will be 80% of viewers. But if there are 200 gawkers and 800 members who watched something else, their percentage will percentage of shit show viewers reduces to only 20%. So turn on your TVs to something else and also watch MeidasTouch Network’s Puppy and Kitten Inauguration and support the Humane Society. If you are working, have those things on playing somewhere with volumes down. MTN will provide analysis of the coverage after the event is over to fact check the many lies that will be spewed.
Thank you thank you! Reading as an American in Japan and I woke up to all the news and articles and blah blah. Yours was some of the best I have read today. Thank you.
Thanks for these words Ben!! Reading a book today, getting outside even though it’s freezing, cooking for a friend… just trying to thoughtfully create the world I want.
Here for the raging hope! I would encourage everyone to go get a copy of Jamil Zaki's book 'Hope for Cynics.' It echoes the theme of what you said...that more people are good than we think, and that hopefulness is a far more powerful change agent than cynicism.
I didn't get to read the bulk of this newsletter (other than the headline in my email inbox) until today. I still don't regret not watching that horror show. I've opted, and some of you might want to take this path, not to see his face or hear his voice if I can avoid it, and to stay informed through legit news sources, rather than having to filter the lies and weed through all the ick. We must resist. We have that fire that is burning too hot to ever be extinguished. I love that description. Thank you Ben. Love, Virg.
Thank you so much for all you do. And ha, I just ordered Girl Scout Cookies too. Emphatically INSTEAD of watching anything to do with the inauguration.

Sharing this widely — thank you for your brightness 💖
This might be the one thing I read today and it was just right! Thank you. 🙏🏻
I'm so glad to hear it! Thank you, friend <3
Not gonna watch it. My TV is off (as it nearly always is) and I’m reading a novel by Substacker Tom Cox. This is a time to endure.
Thanks for the link to trans girl schouts! I ordered from Koi in Ohio! 🥳🥳
